The health triangle has three sides, and they all contribute in someway to the well-being of your health. The three sides are physical, mental/emotional, and social health. Physical health includes basic things such as exercising and eating healthy. To have good physical health, you should exercise at least an hour a day, and eat the right amount of all the food groups. To have poor physical health, you could rarely exercise or you could eat a lot of fatty foods that do not have many other nutrients. The next side of the health triangle is your mental/emotional health. This part includes things such as self-confidence, self-image, and how you handle stress and setbacks. Positive behaviors of your mental health are being able to manage your stress and finding things you like and are good at. Negative behaviors of mental health could be constantly putting yourself and others down or allowing stress to control your life. The final side of the health triangle is social health. Social health involves the type of friends you have, how you treat others, and how you act in the community. Good social health would mean that you have meaningful friendships and always treating people with respect. Negative behaviors of social health include not having any meaningful friends, treating people badly, and not doing things for your community.
The health triangle can be impacted in many different ways, with each side having a direct effect on the other sides. For example, if you improve your physical health, you will probably be very confident in yourself. This will mean that you have the confidence to meet new people and make new friends. Now, with the improvement of your physical health, you have helped to improve your mental and social health as well. Another example could be if your physical health declined. You would feel bad about yourself, and you would think others look down upon you. This would make you not want to meet anybody. Since you don't have to meet anybody, you won't care about your physical health. Eventually, every aspect of your health triangle will become poorer and poorer, just because you allowed your physical health to decline. These examples show how important it is to stay healthy in every area of the health triangle.
